How to Enable 2 Step Verification with Google Authenticator App in Blockchain?

To secure your Blockchain 2-Step Verification (2FA) is important providing an extra layer of security to your wallet. Actually, when you login into your account, you need both the wallet password plus a one-time passcode (OTP) generated through your selected 2FA  reset methods like Google Authenticator, Yubikey, or SMS codes depending on choice.

To enable 2FA Blockchain, go to wallet security center and under the two-step verification section, click on enable and select which option you want to setup.

Steps to Enable 2FA with Google Authenticator App in Blockchain:

Step 1: First download the free application from the App Store or Google Play store.

Step 2: Under Enable, choose Authenticator App.

Step 3: Now you will see a QR code which you have to scan with your Google Authenticator App.

Android Users: Android users, open Google Authenticator on your device and click the three dots appearing on the upper right corner and then select “Add an account and scan the bar code.

iOS Users: While Apple iOS users need to open Google authenticator on your device, click on the + symbol in the upper right, then click to scan bar code.

Step 4: Now scan with your mobile device and once you successfully scan you’ll now see your Wallet ID listed in your app with 6 numbers that change randomly every 30 seconds. This is your 2FA code that you have to use for logging in.

Step 5: Now enter here the code and press Verify Code.

We always recommend Google Authenticator for most users, as it doesn’t require an internet connection or phone service to use, and is more secure than SMS due to offline and works on local device. However if you are using smartphone, you can use OTP sent to your mobile phone by SMS.

Step 1: Here you need to link your mobile number.

Step 2: Under option Enable, press the Mobile Phone Number button.

Step 3: Now enter your mobile number in the field and press Get Verification Code.

Step 4: Now you will receive a text message with your verification code just enter the code and click Submit Code.

Step 5: However, if you made a mistake inserting the code, press Change mobile number and enter a new number.

For that you have to just Under Enable, press the Yubikey button and click inside the field then insert your Yubikey and press to fill in the code and press Submit.
